Hodago Fishing has introduced income-sharing initiatives in Namibia’s Erongo Region, creating permanent and casual job opportunities through resource sharing. The company has invested N$20 million to retain 85 crew members, expanding its workforce to 137 employees since the 2015 joint venture. The company signed a two-year wage agreement in 2015 with the Namibian Fishing Industries and Fisherman Workers Union, resulting in a 12% payroll increase and the inclusion of statutory benefits such as overtime and night shift allowances, previously part of commission agreements. 

Additionally, Hodago offers a housing allowance and provides employees two boxes of fish per month as a “fry” benefit. Hodago Fishing prioritizes employee wellbeing, offering wireless internet for connection with family during offshore work, along with wellness programs and future investment opportunities to support employee development and wellbeing.
